Cheque Validity Period

New Cheque Validity Period in India - The existing validity period of 6 (six) months of cheques etc. has been reduced by the Reserve bank of India to 3 (three) months from the date of the instrument, which will be effective on and from April 1, 2012.

Gift of Leasehold Property

Can a leased property be gifted by the Lessee? A leasehold property cannot be gifted, however one can gift his leasehold right in the property. The Lessee may have to take permission from the Lessor for that, depending upon the terms and conditions of the lease agreement.
